Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God is eternal and God is light meaning HE is free of sin. Before the beginning of Genesis 1:1 God is and was and ever shall be God. There is none other. HE is God alone. And God chose to create. And HIS creation was the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
This text transports us back to the very beginning of time itself. God created time to execute a plan. Time had this beginning, but the book of the Revelation tells us also that Time shall most certainly have an end. Then shall the Redeemed of Time go to God’s dwelling place and “…so shall be ever be with the Lord.” God’s Plan is a plan that shall bring continuous glory to HIS name throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. This great plan would be God’s plan of Redemption. And as God speaks HIS words are clothed with Omnipotence.
“In the beginning God created….” But in this creation, darkness reigned during those early moments of time. First, there was the vast expanse of unlimited darkness. How may our minds comprehend unlimited darkness? The darkness was seemingly unending spaces of emptiness and of stillness. And in the midst of the darkness, God placed the earth. Can you hear Creation’s song as it begins like a soft sweet melody rolling over the limitless volumes of darkness surrounding this tiny planet of mere nothingness.
For “…the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” The melody is being played and the song is being sung as “…the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” There is a stirring in this darkness.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Light dispels darkness. When light appears darkness must flee. Beloved before we came to Christ, we were like the earth. “Without form” means a desolate place, or a vain empty wilderness. “Without form” can mean one who is confused or one who is empty. Is that not our testimony before we came to Jesus Christ. Our life was filled with shattered dreams, and broken relationships. And were not our days filled with emptiness and loneliness. What were your days like before coming to Christ?
Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, ….Moved upon our darkened souls by HIS Spirit.
2Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
God’s plan is the Great Plan of Redemption, but Satan has a plan as well.
Satan seeks to Deceives the crown of God’s creation. He seeks to Divide us thus taking us away from everything that is good and from everything that belongs to the light. He then seeks to Destroy us. We are made in the image of God. We are the very crown of God’s creation and Satan seeks to steal our hearts away from the ONE who loved us and gave Himself for us. The One who has prepared a place that is so rich and glorious that NO tongue of man is able to describe its’ glory and beauty. NO tongue can describe the thunderous sounds of the majestic worship of heaven. No human voice can describe the One who shall spend the ceaseless ages of eternity revealing to us the exceeding riches of HIS grace toward HIS own.
Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Just as the Spirit of God came and moved upon our souls to reveal to us the truth, so God by HIS Spirit begins to divide us from the darkness.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
1Thesalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Don’t fight against God as HE is seeking to deliver our souls from the darkness that has kept us in deception.
John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Come to the Light tonight for it is God’s desire to translate you from the kingdom of darkness into the glorious Kingdom of light.
