Greetings Friends,

2 Chronicles 7:14   If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

There is a roadblock to revival revealed in this text, and that roadblock is Pride.  God calls upon His people to “…humble themselves…”  The first instruction is not prayer -  Prayer always precedes Revival, AND WE WILL PRAY!  But God says to HIS people - humble yourselves.  It is not: “Okay God I am willing to allow you to humble me.”  No the preface to Revival IS God’s people humbling themselves.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,…”

Revival includes the seeking of God’s face, which is a deep longing for HIS presence.  Oh, to be like HIM and to bask in the presence of HIS glory.  It is my prayer that we will all experience this at our Revival, But God says, FIRST:

The people of God MUST “…humble themselves,…”  In Revival there will be much repentance - Oh the salvation of souls, Sinners are called to “turn from their wicked ways”.  But before repentance is humility.  We are called by God to Humble ourselves.

“Welcome everything that helps you on to humility.” (Andrew Murray)

We need to ask ourself this question:  Am I willing to obey the promptings of God.

When you read the Bible, does HIS Spirit prompt you to Obedience?

When you hear a message, does HIS Spirit prompt you to surrender?

When you hear a hymn, a Christian song, or you stand in the midst of the Congregation in Worship, does HIS Spirit prompt you?  Does HIS Spirit move you to follow Christ?  Do you hear the voice of God calling you to surrender your will to HIS will?

Do we allow HIS Spirit to speak to our souls?  WE MUST BE WILLING TO OBEY God when HE speaks to us.  Begin praying on this day by simply letting the Lord know that your response to HIS voice will simply be:  “Yes, Lord!”

Do we Want Revival?  Do we desire HIS presence, The Salvation of Souls, then Welcome Humility.
